Doudna's and Charpentier's Nobel-class, KAVLI-awarded research is marginalized and damned by faint praise in "Heroes of CRISPR" written by non impartial Eric Lander favoring that of the Broad's own Feng Zhang. Rosalind Franklin (see below) might have benefited from a champion who could have better TOLD HER STORY of 1950s English university life in science during a more openly sexist period.

Despite widespread condemnation of Lander’s 2016 CRISPR piece for an unrecognized conflict of interest and for gender bias, the Broad Institute, obviously complicit in the charade, refers to the 'STORY' on its website with no further comment: "For a narrative perspective of the history of CRISPR research, read "The Heroes of CRISPR," by Eric S. Lander, in the January 14, 2016 edition of Cell."
Associations
As has been demonstrated by Lander's "Heroes of CRISPR" historical perspective, a GOOD STORY can also serve as PROPAGANDA or DISINFORMATION. Nathaniel Comfort of Genotopia describes WHIG HISTORY as all about those who get to control a historical narrative OR STORY and thus to whom go all the spoils. "Nominators for those prizes will write their nominations with a narrative in their minds."

PATENT INTERFERENCE
NO INTERFERENCE arguments between UC claims and patents already issued to BROAD are seemingly as invalid as the NO COLLUSION, NO OBSTRUCTION refrain from TRUMP and BARR. USPTO posted documents in June 2019 declaring interference --- opposite its previous ruling.

... pioneer molecular biologist, X-ray crystallographer, might have presented DNA structure first, BUT her PEER, Maurice Wilkens, surreptiously showed Watkins one of Franklin's DNA portraits from which Watkins immediately deduced its structure. She was undoubtedly beaten to publication by Watson and Crick in large part because of friction with Wilkens and pervasive, still extant, sexist attitude.
